John Dana Gibson is the principal of Gibson Design, a branding consultancy focused on identity design, marketing channel strategy, and content development. His work has received awards in international, national, and regional design competitions and has appeared in a variety of design-industry publications. He was included in Connecticut Creatives: The 25 List, a cross section of the state’s top creative professionals.

As an adjunct instructor, John created curriculum that led to the accreditation of a Connecticut community college graphic-design program. He has presented on design topics for a variety of institutions and professional organizations, including: the Harvard University Graduate School of Education, New York University, AIGA (formerly the American Institute of Graphic Arts), the Connecticut Art Directors Club, the Southern New England Chapter of the American Marketing Association, and Real Art Ways.

John has served as an executive board member for the Connecticut Art Directors Club in the roles of treasurer and education chair (cofounding the CADC Annual Student Conference). He was a founding executive board member and financial director of AIGA CT and a juror for several national annual report and educational publishing competitions.
